Whatever kind of gold it is you're talking about.

::: Slightly stepped on radio broadcast but not too shabby! Check samples to pass yer own judgement or start getting off on the vibes.
::: Warts: Yep... bit muffled, some radio reception issues & quality varies some. NOTE: Sound improves a lot about 1 minute into "Trouble".
::: Recommended listening approach is to skip to track 3 & start there. After a minute the quality improves & the whole thing gells.
::: Labeled "1971" (maybe March). Not long after a Boz Scaggs KSAN gig but then probably one before 1971-12-19. Gold says "Summertime" 45 "just" out but it came out in 1970. DJ says a Mark-Almond Band KSAN broadcast is coming up (maybe the same day?). Does anyone know?

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.
::: NONE of these versions are the same as the "Mission Rock" or "San Francisco Origins" CDs. Carefully checked.
"40 Days Blues" is 42 seconds longer here, Robin hums & scat sings during the opening chords. Totally different version.
"Good Things Coming" is 80 seconds shorter here & is a dual vocal, whereas on the album Robin sings alone. Totally different version.
CoolSonics 152 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! ::: Corrections welcome ::: Far out, it's GOLD. At first listen in well over 10 years I thought this was rather disjointed & kind of a mess. However, after some of the horrific volume changes were accounted for & most eggregious dropouts removed, I realised it is in fact, totally enjoyable, even amazing. After your first listen just start with track 3. But it's worth one DJ listen as he sounds stoned to the gills. Best for me is when both guitar players let it rip - GREAT guitar tones. "Good Things Comin'" really reminds me of the rockier side of the N.Y. Rock Ensemble & is the winner on this. A very hip set, which only makes sense given the band's "status" - being groomed by Capitol as an up & comer Bay Area band & being given equal time on KSAN with other major artists with a full in-studio appearance. If you don't know the "Mission Rock" or "San Francisco Origins" CDs, they are well worth seeking out - most excellent posthumously issued West Coast rock albums. If you want heavy, skip right to tracks 6 & 7. Happy trails to you.
