an L.A. tape eXchange recording (LAX)
Recorded by John Musgrave with Mark (the B-Man) holding the right microphone and Mike (the Flying M) holding the left one
Thanks as always to Sue for sneaking the equipment into all these shows, without her many of our recordings would not have been possible.
She is the one you can hear giggling.

Gordon Lightfoot was one of our favorite bands to see each year.
The Universal was still an outdoor amphitheater and the sound was great for taping.

Gordon's set includes a lot of quiet segments and there was a fair amount of microphone clunking that needed some clean-up efforts.
Explosive loud claps were also removed one at a time using the heal function of Adobe Audition.
A fair amount of bumps from moving the microphones around remain but it is not so rough anymore.

The show includes "Heaven Bound" a song which was never released and a variation of "On the High Seas" still titled "On the TV" at this time.

"Endless Wire" has a tape flip after the song and lost a couple seconds of the next song (inserted 6 seconds of applause to smooth the transition)

Gordon recounts the songs he has played and mentions "Cotton Jenny" in that list.
No, you forgot it Gordon!
The Good Brother's opened as they had the previous years.

My favorite time seeing Gordon and the recording came out sweet.
That's what I loved about taping (not the taping but the listening afterwards).
