OldNeumanntapr Notes-
This was the first and only time that I have recorded Gordon Lightfoot. I remember that ‘The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald’ was one of my favorite songs to hear on the radio when I was growing up in the 70s. Gordon remarked at this show that this was the third time that he had played San Luis Obispo, the first time being in 1970, and then he went on to say that the last time was three years previously which was incorrect. The last time that he played SLO was 7/9/98, a little over two years before this show. I had my friend Dave record that one for me, as I was out of town at the time, and he missed getting the first set. I was happy to finally get a complete Gordon Lightfoot show recorded. He seemed to be in fine spirits for this show, though I grew tired of his joking ‘Are you ready? Are you ready?’ he would say before several songs. The acoustics of the Cal Poly PAC are incredible and it shows on the recording.
