I had promised to take my wife to an America concert a few days before this show but it was on a weeknight and it was too difficult to arrange. I looked around for alternatives and noticed that Gordon Lightfoot was playing on Saturday in Harrisburg, PA. Though I wouldn't ordinarily drive over two hours to see Gordon, we decided that this was a perfect excuse for a weekend getaway. I hadn't seen Gordon since 1979, and with him turning 75 shortly, who knows if we'll ever get another chance. Ethiessen1 listened to the recording and summed it up perfectly: "Age and ill health have taken away a little of his voice, but Lightfoot can still weave a story as well as anyone and his songs are still as fresh as when they were originally released." In the end, I'm glad we changed our route from Ventura Highway to Carefree Highway.
