show notes: this was the last Mule show out of 4 on this trip (originally 3, but skipped Blues Traveler in Milwaukee for the Mule Sioux Falls show the night previous), and what a show it was. Peoples was just a lil 2-3 story building on the corner (I think, it was almost 20 years ago...woah!) planted my face about 3 ft. from Woody's feet, and since the bathroom was about 12 feet away, and the crowd was loosey-goosey (vs. 'shoulder to shoulder'), I enjoyed libations all night courstey of ol' buddy Sam, and ducked in the bathroom for a couple of minor piss breaks, but just let the tape roll....the sound of Woody on this one is chest-rattling at the very least, and it's an analog master, so it has that nice non-brittle warmth that many DAT decks seemed to capture back in the day. the true highlight of this show, however, since I'd met Warren at the bus in Sioux Falls and threw him a little Alaskan kind (with which he reciprocated with some Sun Chips and Sam Adams!), post-show encore guest Larry McCray and Woody and a couple of us went upstairs above People's and 'chiefed-out' in a kind of a storage room. good times, good times. Mule was such a force to reckon with back in the day....anyhow, big props to April81972 for the up, hopefully you folks dig it....pretty sure I have a few more uncirculated Mule shows in the vault. so more to come!
