Taper Notes:
There is an interesting back-story here. For the past couple of years, my Allmans Listserv (remember those?) friends and I, many of whom were also
friends from going to the Beacon ABB shows together year after year, had been talking about doing a Macon getaway to see the sights there and to have
an opportunity to hang out with no real agenda. We usually get together at Peach Fest and people are often going different directions to see this set
or that, so we don't have a lot of catch-up time. So about 9 months ago we chose a weekend in April to meet up in Macon, with 15 of us committing to
go. Then Mule announced their Spring tour and decided to play Macon the Friday night of our weekend there!! So we were all at that show and were
totally blown away by the ABB set. We could not have asked for anything better to kick off our weekend together. We got to the show a little late as
we were enjoying a dinner together and didn't care that much about the time. Then I got stopped bringing the gear in and had to educate security to
the fact that Mule allows taping....finally got in and going toward the end of the second song, so I missed "Grinning In Your Face" and most of
"Mule". Most importantly, the 2nd set is intact, and what a set it was! You may hear some friends make an occasional comment during the show, or
definitely at the end, about the incredible karma we had that weekend. Not just with this, but throughout it seemed. Enjoy!
