This a a high resolution 24 bit/48 kHz transfer.

Here's a brand new Graham Parker cassette master, digitized & flac'd for the first time.

This was held at the Rancho Relaxo, an upstairs music venue, above a restaurant.

Thanks to Plaz for recording the show and sending the cassettes over to me.

Check samples for quality.

It was Graham and The Rumour booked at The Guvernment, but due to lack of ticket sales or border hassles the band stayed on the US side of the border (i just overheard talk/gossip to that effect) and only Graham made the trip to Toronto. Me and a friend arrived at the Guv -- at 7pm, where a sign on the door directed us to another venue with a 10 pm start time. So we headed uptown and found this little upstairs restaurant/club called Rancho Relaxo. We drove right over parked and grabbed seats at the 2nd set of tables on the side away from the washrooms -- the bar was in the back corner about 6 sets of tables behind us opposite the door. Then we had snacks and beer, being so famished from the journey.

That little show was way overcrowded and I was about 2 meters back from centre stage sitting on a chair I had commandeered in the middle of the aisle -- no way could the folks ahead of me access beer while GP was playing -- and I suggested they stock up while he wasn't, so nobody was moving anywhere except between the sets. It was an enjoyable gig with a friendly and wry Graham in front of about 120 hardcore sardines. The Fire Marshall would have been appalled, I think the capacity of the club/party room is about 80. After the 1st set they removed tables at the back and took them downstairs (when the restaurant below had closed). Then more people packed in and it was too late to take our tables.

GP played some relatively new songs and it was great seeing him so close doing solo versions of his repertoire. I think this was a unique show on this particular tour, unless he did some other solo gigs along the way -- I haven't checked. I played it only once, in my car on the way to drop off my friend and return home.

This was recorded stealthily with the CSBs with foam windscreens taped under my T-shirt.
