AWESOME NEIL YOUNG COVER "ALBUQUERQUE" - UNCIRCULATED<< with samples

Preliminary remark 1:

This is kind of a comeback. Lost my "old" computer after a nighttime cooler defect.
So i had to buy a couple of new toys (check out the "lineage" below...) to continue
my work...and it took me longer as i thought to bring all components to completion.
Think i did a good job, and it should now work fine...keep your fingers crossed...

All your incoming PM's and emails during the past 4 weeks
will be answered soon, thanks for your patience !

Preliminary remark 2:

Preliminary remark 3:

As far as I know NONE of this recording was ever used commercially.

This recording here comes directly from the "Men With Microphones" archive.
"MWM" started in the 70ies in South Germany with analog recording equipment,
and at least two of them are still recording sometimes (since the 90ies on DAT,
and, lazy as we are, since lately with small, handheld WAV-recorders on SD-cards).
The "MWM" startet as a project of friends sharing their hobbies together. But by
reason of jobs, partners and other interests the circle of all involved shrinked.

About this concert:

Autumn 1996 was the start of an interesting experiment. Two German record labels and their
booking agency teamed together and started the first "double-headliner tour" with Blue Rose
act The Dashboard Saviors and Glitterhouse band Go To Blazes - and those concerts had been
very successful. The idea was simple: both bands played 70 to 90 minutes, and they alternated
the order of their appearance each night. A similar concept was used a few months later for
the "THE DESERT ROCKS"-tour 1997 with Rich Hopkins and the Luminarios and Granfaloon Bus in
January/February, and the same year during April with Chris Burroughs and Neal Casal.

Granfaloon Bus from San Francisco, CA was one of our favourite bands since the mid-90ies...

Their CD "Rocket Noon" in 1996 (Trocadero Records) was nearly constantly rotating in our
players, we loved this unique mixture somewhere between Pavement and Palace Brothers, all
those crazy, sleepy, county-esk songs, strange lyrics and whacked-out stories, we couldn't
wait to see them live on stage in Europe...

Early 1997 they came for an extended tour, a double-package with our other heroes, Rich Hopkins
and the Luminarios. 8 crazy musicians and one roadmanager/driver/soundengineer/merchandiser
together in a small van for six weeks...thousands of kilometers through Europe...cockfights
starting after the first show til the end of the tour. Rich (Sidewinders/Sandrubies/Luminarios...)
thought himself as "headliner" and the Faloonies as "support act", and quite often the response
by the audience (and the sales of merchandise) showed a different picture...

And we had to wait just 10 months to see them again, with a slight
different band line-up, together with our good friend Todd McBride:

The Dashboard Saviors separated early 1997, and Todd took the chance to record his solo-album
"Sketchy", again released by Blue Rose. Todd came back to Europe in December 1997 to promote
his album, this time as support act for Granfaloon Bus on their second big German tour 97/98...

All five musicians had lots of fun, they celebrated Christmas and New Years Eve together, and
soon there was a new band project, "Senior Deutschmark", 3/4th of Granfaloon Bus backing up
Todd after a few songs solo, and Todd came during the "headliner"-shows to help them with
some backing vocals, and sang lead vocals usually on one or two coversongs.

THIS HERE IS DEFINITELY A MUST-HAVE !

WHY ?

Including all those things a good boardtape should have:

- an band in their prime, full of emotions (and a little booze - remember all those Georgians as support acts)...
- one of their longest concerts (at least) in Germany...must have been this strange blue drinks
- two unknown and maybe unreleased songs (track 2-01. and 2-09.)...hope someone knows the correct song titles
- one of their best band-versions of Neil's "Albuquerque" - bloodcurdling & spine-crawling !!
- a crowded room full of enthusiastic people...and this damn blue alcoholic liquor...

SOUNDS GREAT ? YEAH, IT'S REALLY AWESOME...

AND THERE IS NO "BUT"....

EXCEPT MAYBE: "BUT"...WAY TOO SHORT...

This concert here was recorded close to tour-end
by my dear friend Woolfi - excellent as usual.

FOR THE FIRST TIME OUT OF OUR ARCHIVE,
COMPLETELY UNTRADED, SLIGHTLY MASTERED,
AND OTHERWISE UNALTERED - PLEASE ENJOY!

My dear buddy Ken TheCommish usually writes (and hey, he's damn right):
If you decide to download this show, won't you please consider posting a comment
on the show's board? It only takes a moment, and believe me, it takes A LOT longer
to prepare/upload a show for others to enjoy than it does to download and run...

You know, our friend Dave T says: "There's always more to come..."
And i'll promise you to keep MY tapes coming...
