This is one of the remaining torrents from the batch of tapes DIME-member huskerdu19721 sent me to digitize for him. There are a few more odds and sods like this left, which I will post when I have the time.

"The Main" and "Signed D.C." were officially released on the 12" E.P. "All Of My Senses", and are not included in this torrent. If you're a fan, you need to buy the record, if you don't already own it.

For some reason, the tape I originally received of this session back in the day, was riddled with channel static/dropouts in the right channel. I seem to recall that my original tape had come directly from Grant, who suggested that I might be able to do something to fix it. At that time, I simply removed the faulty channel, and doubled the remaining signal, as they were numerous dropouts in the right channel, and either I thought it was too time-consuming, or I might have felt I lacked adequate resources to do a thorough repair. The result was a strictly monaural tape, based on replacing the entire left channel with a duplicated right channel. Not the ideal situation, but that's what it was. I believe I may have traded that tape out once or twice, at the most. It's llikely that many version of that tape floating around are from my monaural copy. I would guess that if you have a tape with both channels being identical, they are unknown gens of my mono mix, and this torrent seems to be a significant upgrade, by going back to the pre-mixed stereo version.

This segment, which was used for filler on a cassette I received from DIME-member huskerdu1972, suffered from the same channel dropouts, which I have attempted to repair by cross-patching, to the best of my ability. That means that the patched segments (as noted in the attached .txt file) are mono, from the left channel, while the remainder of the audio is stereo. Combined with the Azimuth-adjustment to the playback head, this seems to be a vast improvement over the quality of the previously circulating mono conversion.

The fact that two tracks from this session were officially released in pristine quality would indicate that somewhere in the BBC archives, there exists an unflawed recording of the entire session, although I have never seen one in circulation.

Thanks once again to huskerdu1972, who loaned me a bunch of his cassettes for me digitize and share with the rest of you all.

I guess since this isn't my recording, I can't insist on my usual policy of asking that no one posts any of their so-called "artwork" on this, but I can hope that people would realize that stuff really isn't neccesary, and it tends to feed the bootleggers more than the fanboy inside. I can say that I'm less likely to make sharing a very big priority if things I post get that kind of stuff attached to them, though.
