draftervoi's original notes:
Greg Kihn was a local home-town rock hero here in the Bay Area, putting out an album a year between 1976 and his commercial break-through with his Top 10 hit Jeopardy in 1983. During those years, his hard-working band was second-billed on dozens of local shows, opening for major acts at Winterland, the Cow Palace, and the Oakland Coliseum.

In a night club, the Greg Kihn Band were a great, fun live act, and I have many memories of watching them play live. Kihn always had great taste in cover songs, and here he knocks out Chuck Berrys Around and Around, Lou Reeds Sweet Jane, and the Modern Lovers Roadrunner,...and his drummer, Larry Lynch, takes a lead vocal on Jackie Wilsons Higher and Higher.

I'm not sure about the provenance of this tape; it's not one of my master cassettes. A friend mailed me his copy and I digitized it back in the early 2000s; it's supposedly from a master cassette, but I can't confirm that as a fact.

Many thanks to draftervoi for all his efforts and providing this show through his Voodoo Wagon blog.
