comments:
This is part of the very abbreviated (due to lack of ticket sales, I'm told) 1981
Greg Lake U.S. tour. Novo Combo opened this show, this torrent only includes Greg's set
which I think is complete except for a quick tape flip. The set runs about an hour.
Some of the current songs sounded pretty good, Greg's voice sounded good, nuclear
attack, retribution drive and the lie were my favorite performances in this set,
and in the court. This tour can be heard in released form (soundboard source) from
London on the King Biscuit released CD series. I'm not the biggest ELP fan by any means
but I do like them and actually had a ticket to Greg's Boston 81 concert, a really good
one too. Trouble is, not many got tickets at all, and that show was cancelled due to
lack of interest. It's very rare to see a popular British artist concert ever cancelled
in Boston for that reason. This is not like seeing ELP, but knowing how popular Greg is
I think some folks will enjoy hearing this. There's not too much crowd noise, it's not
really high-fidelity but you hear everything that's going on. Sounds like there was a
clear path between mikes and amps. I don't know who is in the band but it has keyboards,
guitar, drums and of course Greg playing bass. Greg was into it, which is nice to hear
since in my chance to hear this tour he never got a chance to get into it at all. too
bad. He still sounds like only Greg Lake can in this concert.
Do not sell this recording.
Trade freely and losslessly.
