"Hello, I'm Johnny Cash"
minimax master-series #214
incomplete Master - Audience recording
Equipment and sound:
Taped with Zoom H4N and its included mikrophones
The sound quality is very good +, lots of clapping, some talking people around, partly nice comments.
Not my perfect idea of a good recording as I had to regulate the sound
several times and didn't work well on that.
But the worst thing to say is that the Zoom broke down in the middle of the second part
due to empty batteries. I had put new batteries in it before but my new Zoom seems to be a "Stromfresser".
Shit on that!!
So here we have: the first part of the show complete, the first minutes of the second part
and a bit of the encores. Some songs end in their middle!
Location:
The Lichtburg is the most beautiful cinema around here in Germany where sometimes
concerts will take place.
I recorded it from the 7th row, place 27.
It was nearly sold out.
The sound in the cinema was beautiful.
The "Concert":
It was announced as a "Musical" but all in all I like to say it must be a bit different to
all your favourites out there like "Cats" or "King of the Lions" or "U2 in 360°".
Gunter Gabriel took over the role of Johnny Cash that evening performing songs through
his whole career, accompanied by Helen Schneider, who played "June Carter" and a five-men-
backing-band.
Line-up:
Gunter Gabriel is the most famous german country-and-trucker-singer and he held a friendship
to Mr. Cash since the early 70s. He had some big smash-hits like: "Hey Boss, ich brauch mehr Geld",
"Ich werd' gesucht in Bremerhaven, ich werd' gesucht in Wuppertal" and of course
"Komm unter meine Decke".
Helen Schneider is a german singer who became a bit famous in the 80s performing "Heideröslein"
at the german TV-show "Bios Bahnhof". She had a hit-single with "Rock'n'roll gypsy".
In the late 80s she became a musical-singer.
The band: unknown
