Comments: Recorded from Section c, Row 6 about forty feet from the left PA stack, stealth. An enthusiastic band and audience were on hand this warm South Florida evening. This show was heavier, more electric and more animated than the last time I saw them in Boca Raton in early 2009. Not a single acoustic guitar (or stool) was evident the entire night. Paul Pesco did a fine job filling the void left vacant by the passing of the late Tom 'T-Bone' Wolk. I think he may be influencing the heavier direction of the arrangements on this tour. He even did some teeth picking (ala Hendrix) toward the end of "Kiss On My List". The rest of the band were tight and "on" as usual. "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" has an extended jam section. The "official" set list showed that "Private Eyes" was supposed to be the final song but for whatever reason was not played. Kind of unusual considering this is one of their most popular live sing along (clap along?) numbers. The wife did manage to snag a John Oates guitar pick to match the Daryl Hall pick she got last year.

Pompano Beach Amphitheater is, of course, an outdoor venue and there was an occasional light breeze. This causes some wind noise in the mics and there is also some of the swirling effect you get from the air moving around. Neither is too objectionable though. The audience around me were quiet for the most part and there isn't much intrusion into the recording. I did trim about thirty seconds from each of the pre-encore audience sections in order to fit this recording on a single 80 minute CD. Some pictures I took and rudimentary artwork is included.

This is NOT a copy of the master recording. It has been altered in the following ways: levels adjusted and normalized, fades added at disc transitions, downsampled to 16 bit and tracks split all to make it compatible with audio CD format. No equalization or other sound alterations have been applied.
