Once again another one I received via the post years ago.

The sound is stunning for a 1981 audience recording.

Being in the open air you can clearly hear the wind buffetting the mics, and there's an odd mic
bump here and there. But boy what a great job the taper did with this.

I'd have loved to have gone to one of these free summer soltice gigs at Stonehenge, but it never happened.

Theres not a lot I can say about this recording its superb, and again maybe the wind in the mics
and the mics being bumped periodcally knocks it down a notch.

So 8/10 or EX but maybe EX+ you be the judge.

I know the band recorded a few of the Free Festivals with some of the 1977 gig
ending up on the Weird Tapes and you never know one day we may get this in pristine condition
with no wind etc.

As always share freely but NEVER sell. Don't covert to lossy unless for personal use.

Lets remember Hawkwind are a current active touring band:

So support them by going to gigs, buying their cd's and merchandise etc. I will be there in Manchester to watch them in September 2021 and I'll be buying their new LP Somnia.

Check out their official website here: http://www.hawkwindmuseum.co.uk

Also check here for the bands current trading/recording policy: http://www.hawkwindmuseum.co.uk/trading%20rules.htm and this recording is allowed by the band under those rules.

You can also find detailed info on their re-issue back catologue here: http://cherryred.co.uk/atomhenge/main.htm

Lets keep those motors running.

Cheers
