Tapers Notes (From the OC Register):

For any other band, bookending a concert at the Hollywood Bowl with Led Zeppelin songs
is something to be avoided. This is especially true when those songs are Kashmir,
an all-too obvious choice for any band playing with a full orchestra, and Stairway to Heaven,
as well-known for being mockingly requested at talent shows as it is for being among the
greatest rock songs ever written.

But Heart is not just any other band."

Halfway through their 90-minute set, Heart made the case that they have the best vocals
in rock. After Kick It Out and radio mainstay Straight On, the only two songs they
would play without the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the band may have proved that Ann is one
of the greatest rock singers.

Theres no question that Anns voice is a huge part of what makes the performance great,
but it takes Nancys voice to create the harmonies that make their songs Heart.

Over the course of 14 songs and a beautiful interlude to Dog and Butterfly that included
an oboe solo, Heart demonstrated the extent of their diverse talents. Craig Bartock
shined during several solos, particularly during a slide guitar performance in Heaven.
In addition to her vocal duties, Nancy played the mandolin, acoustic and electric rhythm

But ultimately, from her mesmerizing flute playing on Dreamboat Annie, to the
show-stopping high notes of Stairway to Heaven, Ann Wilsons star would
shine the brightest.

The true thanks go not to me, but to the taping community behind whose footsteps
I have followed, including those who have perfected the art of stealth recordings,
the makers of the stealthy mikes, cords, adapters, and preamps, and those who
have graciously shared their recording techniques.

I am merely a mike stand with a credit card and driver's license.

As always, I don't care what you do with these files, once you download
them--they are yours now, except these files are not for sale, free
trade only. You can thank me by uploading something of a similar genre
or trading with me, so I can.
