HILLSTOMP Bio
Portland Oregon junkbox blues duo HILLSTOMP is infamous for digging through the dumps and forgotten backwoods of American music, recycling traditional elements into a refreshing and distinctive brand of do-it-yourself hill country blues stomp. North Mississippi trance blues, a bit of Appalachia, and a dash of punkabilly come clanging and tumbling from assorted buckets, cans and BBQ lids, all drenched in rambunctious slide guitar. Somehow it works.

Despite their homemade instruments and novel approach, Hillstomp is no novelty act. In addition to two widely-acclaimed (whats a better way to say widely-acclaimed??) studio albums, the band's memorable live performances give outlaws and traditionalists of every generation something to get excited about.

Audience recording by Don Landis. Equipment: Mic Stand (7')> SP-BMC-6 mics (AT803b) > SP-SPSB-1 battery box > Nomad JB 3 > Sound Forge 6.0 > CD Wave Editor > FLAC Frontend > checksum created and all files tested in Trader's Little Helper.

Hillstomp was at their blues-stompin' best on this Wichita performance. Local harp hero Dustin Arbuckle sat in on the final 3 songs, adding an extra zip to the finale. This recording has not been normalized or mastered; the volume is a bit low but has a full dynamic range. It was my first recording in quite a while and a very fun evening. Enjoy!

Need help with the setlist.
