Here's the story: Joel came over to Truman's house to play music. He brought this tape. (Where the hell are you, Joel? Truman's been trying to return this tape to you for 30 years now.) They recorded 45 minutes or so on the blank side of the tape. When Joel left, he said, 'Hey, my friend Paul sent me a letter on the other side of the tape, you'll probably enjoy hearing it.' His friend Paul was Paul Presti. Antonia is there, and she sings. Later, Stampfel and others arrive and rehearse, but not much of that is on the tape. Somehow, Joel never got the tape back from Truman, and only a few people heard it as the years rolled by. After playing together for over 25 years, Truman allowed me to digitize the tape. He was always uncomfortable about sharing it, since it really belongs to Joel. It's possible but unlikely that Paul made a copy. It's possible but unlikely that Joel made a copy. I'm as good as certain that no one copied this before me.

I don't predict that very many people will be interested in this, but I predict that the ones who are will be very very interested. Quality over quantity any day.
