Horslips 3-24-79
Phila, PA. Spectrum
WIOQ FM

Horslips rides into Philadelphia to support the MWBA LP. I remember the Rectum... er Spectrum well. I also remember the infamous Phila. DJ Ed Sciaky,
may he R.I.P. from IOQ who announced this show. Not to be confused with Dr. Shock, aka... Shocky Doc. another famous Phila. media personality. Anyway,
I called Ed once to ask him why a prog station like IOQ wouldn't play anything by my fav band, Van Der Graaf Generator. He told me that nobody was into
or interested in them, called me a flaming a#@hole and hung up on me. To his credit though he did spin one of their uninteresting songs for me :)

I took a first date to the Spectrum once to see Tull on their Thick as A Brick Tour. She was a model. Nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more. When I arrived
at her home to pick her up she was wearing an evening gown, heels and sporting a really cool beehive hairdoo. I was wearing jeans and sporting a beard with
shoulder length hair. I didn't have a car so we went to the gig on the subway. How classy is that! Funny, I couldn't figure out why everybody was staring
at me on the train, at the gig and on the way home that evening. I knew I was a handsome guy but this was rediculous :)

Unfortunately, I didn't see the Horslips at this Spectrum gig but this may be the next best thing. Enjoy! Derag Doom.
