comments:
I don't think I've heard this recording all the way through
until digitizing it for the 1st time. Since I didn't see this
show (never seen the Human League) I didn't really know much
at all about this band except they do "don't you want me baby"
(and they do that here too), their music sounds a little like
a mix of Duran Duran, B-52's, poppier Talking Heads, emphasising
vocals and electronics (including a drum machine which I'm not
a fan of but it sounds all right here). This is dance club music
in a theater gig, not much crowd noise at all, but they seemed
to have a good time and the sound was good, everything comes
through well. that seems to be consistently true when it's a
Purple Moon production. This band was pretty popular at this time
as far as I know they may just have been a one hit wonder but I
have seen a couple of Human League shows on the dime which made
me remember I have this old relic of theirs hanging around so why
not post it? Especially since it was just over 28 years ago.
Man does that ever make me feel old... I don't know what they
look or sound like now but at this time, they looked hot and sang well
and put on a nice show of their alternapop style of music.
