Sweet 16 bit audience recording !
~ This write-up was written right after the show ~
It's been a couple of years since iv'e seen Indigenous, and even though there have
been several re-incarnations of Indigenous over the years there is one thing that
stays the same is Mato's ability as a musician & guitarist to keep playing some really
great music, there is just something so earthy about his music, so genuine, so far from
the beaten path of today's music yet still as exciting as the first time i ever heard his
music.
For those who don't know Indigenous, originally founded by family members of a native american
Nakota nation indian tribe in South Dakota, they rose to stardom rapidly. Heavily influenced by
Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana and countless other great blues artist's they got
noticed immediately on the blues-rock circuit. Mato with his scorching red hot guitar, and catchy
lyrics quickly caught the attention of blues fans world-wide.
Inevitable comparisons to Stevie Ray & Jimi Hendrix would come with the territory, also criticism
but Mato & Co.proved all critics wrong with much accomplishment since the first cd, carving a nice
place in history as one of the most original sounding blues-rock group ever to set foot on a stage.
Currently, they're on tour across the U.S., delighting fans wherever they go !
Mato Nanji noticed for his exceptional guitar work & vocals with Indigenous has been touring the last
couple years with the Experience Hendrix Tour soon to start the 2012' tour, so if you get a chance to go
see him do, you won't regret it.
About the show:
This was my first time at the Stanhope House, highly regarded as a a special place to play by musicians,
it's most famous musician that played there was Stevie Ray Vaughan, heard he even washed dishes after
the show.
This show was a typical show from Mato & Co. who play great music consistently, no matter what line-up
they have, they really know how to excite the crowd, iv'e never seen a dance floor fill up so quickly
to a blues band before, could hardly see the band no less take pictures.
From the opening instrumental "Out Of Nowhere", to the last song Jimi Hendrix " Red House ", the crowd
kept coming and they kept rockin , all in all a fantastic performance.
If you don't know Indigenous & like blues-rock you need to check these guys out, if you know Indigenous
it's a no-brainer.!
Support the artist by going to a live show & buying a cd etc.
