It's been a heady year for Portland's The Insomniacs. After packing local clubs and winning the Cascade Blues Association Muddy Award for Best New Act of 2006, the band this spring was signed by Los Angeles blues label Delta Groove. Said the label's CEO, Randy Chortkoff, "The Insomniacs are the new generation of high-energy, authentic, young-bloods who have done their homework and incorporated their own unique soulful style."

The band has been getting steady airplay on regional blues radio, and heads out this summer to play a number of high profile festival slots.
