First time out with my new rig. Thank you Chris from SP for the design and creation of the new
dual battery box for the Tascam DR-2D. This box is must for anyone who has this recorder and is
looking for the ease and convenience of providing power to 2 sets of mics. Thank you to all on
the TS forum Tascam DR-2D thread for the essential information for defining ideal level settings
for this recorder.

------------------------------------

After being delayed by the length of the line entering the venue due to the vigilant security
guards with their metal detecting security wands, I finally arrived at my seat missing on the first
song Sno-Cone. I hit the record button on my way to the seat, so Hard Drivin Man begins as I am
making my way down the steps. No talkers or crowd noise around me because of late arrivals.
Enjoy the show! Support the artist. Attend concerts and buy their music.

By Scott Mervis / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Its one of those classic 70s rock oddities that Bob Segers crew played the Civic Arena with Kiss
(1975, to be exact) but never shared the dome with the J Geils Band. They made a lot more sense
together then, and 40 years later they still do, as we witnessed Thursday night at a packed Consol
Energy Center on the second date of the tour. Having had the longer run of big hits, not to mention
establishing himself as a Chevy truck-driving American institution, it's the Seger tour, with J Geils
just along for the joy ride.

The boys from the Boston are a tough act to follow. The on-and-off-again group, utterly J Geil-less,
opened with an 11-song set launched by a smokin Sno-Cone, giving harmonica god Magic Dick a crack at
Albert Collins. No surprise that the man can still wail. Peter Wolf jumped out for Hard Drivin Man,
bringing the voice, sparkly black jacket and Jagger moves in skinny jeans and he turns 69 in March!
The JGB demonstrated right away that, far from a rib fest band, they are one hot, funky, snarling blues-rock
beast. The too-short 45-minute set was perfectly catered to the early 70s fan with a rippin Pack Fair
and Square, a sly, sleazy Give it to Me, a geographically apt Detroit Breakdown and Musta Got Lost,
with the Wolfa Goofa nailing the Repeauta the Beauta intro. Whammer Jammer was two minutes of Dicky bliss,
and the rowdy Ain't Nothin But a House Party made everyone feel 17 again. They nodded to the 80s with just
Centerfold and a celebratory Love Stinks, which the crowd ate up. The Geils Band was introduced as
three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees. What are they waiting for?

Mr. Seger, 69 and a contender for nicest guy in show biz, came out looking like Santa in a black T-shirt and
sounding as strong as ever on Roll Me Away. He had a lot of years to rest his voice, after all. Here's a
funky song J Geils would like this song, he said, introducing Otis Clays Tryin to Live My Life Without You.
The Silver Bullet Band, with the Motor City Horns, isnt funkier but it got the full sound system and lived up
to reputation as one of the heartlands sturdiest units, chugging through rockers Fire Down Below, Her Strut
and Come to Poppa while providing cinematic backdrop for power ballads Mainstreet, We've Got Tonight and
Turn the Page, with lonely sax cry and full Consol crowd choir.

Old Time Rock & Roll one of the most cringe-worthy songs ever about rock n roll briefly turned the concert
into a wedding, and Like a Rock briefly turned it into a live commercial (with a stellar slide solo).
People went nuts. The Silver Bullet tour is driven in part by Ride Out, the band's first new album in eight years,
comprising six of the 22 songs. Among them, Its Your World was his own angry, stomping state of the union address.
California Stars was a faithful though more ham-fisted cover of Wilcos Woody Guthrie song. Hey Gypsy copped the
riff from Stevie Ray Vaughan's Pride and Joy to pay tribute to the late great guitarist. And John Hiatts
Detroit Made forged some hard-rock hometown pride with 13 Michiganers on stage.

The classic tracks kept stacking up Against the Wind, Hollywood Nights, Night Moves, Rock and Roll Never
Forgets (but no Ramblin Gamblin Man) and could have gone on and on. Seger and Silver Bullet delivered every one
with a rugged, salt-of-the-earth strength befitting one of the good ol American bands.
