Taper's Comments:
"The Bottom Line" was in my opinion, the best club to see a show in NYC, in the 80's. Good sounding, sightlines, and a casual atmosphere.
This night would end up being one of my most interesting taping experiences. As I ended up sitting down next to an off duty concert security guard, who loved to find tapers, and shut them down. He was a big guy, with a big mouth, and a few times on the tape you can hear him asking me questions, but it wasn't usually during the performance. During the course of the show, he motioned over the club security people, and pointed out people that were taping the show, and had them shut down. This included a nice couple that were sitting on the other side of the table from me. You can even hear him make a comment that tapers were too interested in making tapes, and not enjoying the show. I never got caught, because I was always in the stealth mode. The recorder was in my sock, strapped to my ankle with some old man's garters, and the mic cable to the condensor mic ran up my leg, and came out of my shirt pocket for the mic to fit through! So it was just turn on the recorder, watch the time for tape flips, and enjoy the show! So to you Mr. Security Guard, HA, fooled you! Enjoy!
