LDB Special Series #279

Out of my 7,000+ shows and radio broadcasts, I have many concerts that were special for some reasons: the setlist, the
musicians, the venue or unexpected events. These are the ones I'd like to propose you. Most of these come from my
cassettes collection, so they will be released at a slower pace than my Master Series! But you won't be disappointed!
I will try to gather the most unusual things I have in my collection and, as always, your feedback and comments will be my
reward for all the work involved in this project.

DO NOT share this music on mp3, just convert it for your own use. Sharing mp3's is the right way to make me stop sharing
music here.

JACO PASTORIUS WORD OF MOUTH BAND
Hollywood, Hollywood Bowl
June 17, 1984

Playboy Jazz Festival

No Setlist

TT 43:49

Lineage: Unknown recording device > master tape > CD 1st generation > EAC (FLAC plugin)

Jaco - bass
Johnny Coles - trumpet
Kenwood Dennard - Drums
Delmar Brown - keyboards
Alex Foster - Sax
Don Alias - percussion
Othello Molineaux - Steel Drums
Melton Mustafa - trumpet
Coke Escovito - percussions

I received this one from the taper in the early 2000's. Along with the cd there was note that I put below without further
comments. Jaco was not in the conditions to play that evening and his set was cut short when his band just stopped playing
because he was messing around too much with his bass.

"This tape is the beginning of the end for jaco. Don't take this tape, unless you're prepared for a good dose of depression.
Jaco comes on stage so wasted that his own musicians won't even play for him. At the end of the set, he's so mad that he
trashes the stage"
