James Brown

Date : December 9, 1998
Venue: Akasaka Blitz
City : Tokyo, Japan

If my memory is good, JB played 3 shows at Akasaka Blitz (as small a place as Fillmore in San Francisco, general admission, no seat on the ground floor) and this was the last night of his 1998 Japan tour.

JB got angry at first when the promoter told him that he was going to play in such a small place. Nobody had told JB about the size of the venue before he reached Japan. But JB was satisfied with the show on the first night, as he was able to feel the good vibration/excitement/heat directly from the audience. This is what I heard more than 8 years ago. I do not know if it was exactly what happened, but the show itself was great as this recording suggests.
