Tapers Notes:

James Carter resists category. He plays the tenor, baritone and soprano saxes,
plus the flute and bass clarinet. He clearly aligns himself with classic jazz,
though his output is so varied that you couldn't possibly call him conservative.

The James Carter Organ Trio is similar to Joey DeFrancesco, in that the keyboard player
plays bass, but Gibbs has more toys and plays better bass, but I must admit that
Joey D has a better organ sound. Unlike Joey D., this is straight ahead jazz for the
jazz purest. Song titles are my best guess--correct them if you know better

Set List:

1. Going Home (Spanky Wilson)
3. Many Blessings (Rahsaan Roland Kirk)
4. Aged Pain (Ronald Shannon Jackson)
5. Theme in Search of TV Commercial (Charles Stepney)
6. Come Sunday (Duke Ellington)
7. Mingo Domingo (Lockjaw Davis)
