NOTES:
There is no justice in a world where James Hall is not an international superstar; consequentially, there is no justice in this world. James didn’t play with his usual band, preferring instead to enlist the help of numerous local musicians (only his regular slide guitarist can be heard here and James handled lead guitar duties all by himself), and this show felt like an informal party for friends. James and company visited every stage of the man’s illustrious career, with several choice Pleasure Club compositions and even a Mary My Hope tune being performed during the two sets (lotsa covers, new songs and deeper cuts here). I feel really lucky to have been at this show and I’m pleased as punch that I got it on tape. (Sadly, I missed James and his ragtag band of misfit toys jamming for quite some time during happy hour at the bar earlier in the evening…and I also missed James playing live on the local college radio station earlier in the day…rats!) I adjusted the recording levels a few times during the acoustic set. The electric set sounds pretty decent for a recording of a band playing without a proper PA, but the acoustic set sounds really, really sweet. Give this one a shot even if you don’t know who James Hall is—I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

PLAY LOUD.

With regards to the distribution of this recording, I only ask that you try real hard not to spread it around as MP3 files; otherwise, do what thou wilt.
