OldNeumanntapr Notes-
I’ve recorded James Harman more times than any other artist at the SLO Blues Society. Not sure why that is, maybe he just came around more than others did.
It was either this show, or the 2001 show, that Harman offered to give a CD to one of Jack’s volunteers after the show. Karen and I were starting to tear down the PA after the encore and Harman was still on stage putting his harmonicas away while the rest of the band disassembled their gear. Harman looked over the edge of the stage and tells Karen that he will give her a CD, ‘on a condition’. She looked up, with a look of mild trepidation, and I had a feeling that I knew how this exchange was going to play out. Harman smiled and reached out to place a CD into her hand. He said something like, “Take this home, put it in your CD player, and turn off all the lights. Next…”

(“Take off all your clothes”, says I.)

Harman gave me a drop-dead dirty look, as if to say, ’Shut your mouth’, and I laughed. He then turned to Karen and said, “Take off all your clothes, and…”

It was at that point that Karen handed him back the CD and said, “No thanks.”

It didn’t help that I was still laughing!
