I took my mom to see this. After years of trying to get her to go to a concert with me again, she finally, after mildly nagging about how all that walking was going to kill her, got out and had some fun. We sat at the bar across from the stage on the same level as the speakers, partly because it sounds pretty good there, less boomy than the actual auditorium proper, and partly because our tickets were for seats very far to the right of the stage with a lousy view.

I've recorded from the bar before with reasonably good results. This one was no different. Very little audience interference because they were all on the other side of the partition (there's a glass wall up to just below head height when you're sitting. The sound you hear in the bar comes throug a space about 5 feet tall between the ceiling and the partition; this seems to cut the echo of the hall out a lot b ecause all you cet is what's coming through that slice in the wall). The only real problem is that James likes to play at a very modest volume. The music was about as loud as you'd have it when friends are over for beers, and the dialogue was so soft I could barely make it out. I walked around a bit and listened inside the arena and it wasn't any different. He's just a quiet dude.

The recording is what it is. Came out pretty decent considering the volume.
