Notes:

My seventh annual recording of James Taylor at Tanglewood (and the 50th anniversary month of his first concert there); the first using the Zoom H1essential, which features 32-bit float recording. No more worries about clipping, no loss of fidelity when raising the volume on quieter portions. Not even a volume control for recording as there's no need for it.

Recorded from the lawn, to the left of the stage. Three patches were needed - the first at 1:14 to 1:38 of October Road, when a overly zealous usher told me I was standing in a staff only area and had to move. The patch came from radio W B's great 6/28/24 recording, thanks to him for letting me borrow from his show. The second comes at 0:22 to 1:06 of the first band introduction. I moved from one location to another between songs to avoid some talkers, resulting in a good deal of rustling noise during the introduction of Larry Goldings. The patch is from my 7/4/22 recording. The last appears during 0:38-1:15 of Carolina in My Mind, when I had to relocate to a quieter area to avoid some loud talkers. This patch is also from my 7/4/22 recording. As between listening to an intact show with intrusive talking and loud rustling and a show with some minor patches that result in a more enjoyable listing experience, I opted for the latter, although I know not everyone would agree. If this concert was of some historical significance, I would have left it intact.

One further note - JT tends be talkative. I've included separate banter/band intro/encore tracks. If you prefer to not hear them (or hear them repeatedly), simply either don't download them or delete them after a listen. For the most part, their absence will not be noticed as I tried to include the cuts in a way that results in a seamless, banter free show. The show is about 29 minutes shorter without these tracks.

Enjoy the show and support the artists.
