since 2012 Akkerman assembled a band with the purpose
to perform songs from his Brainbox period from the late sixties.
Jan Akkerman played for a few years in this band before teaming up with Thijs van Leer in Focus.
The band Brainbox brought in new guitarists and played quite succesfully for a couple of years after Jan left the band.

The original vocalist. Kaz Lux, is in My Brainbox replaced by Bert Heerink, former frontman of Vandenberg.
The reason for this replacement is probably the fact that Kaz Lux has revived the old Brainbox since a few years
and still tours and records with that band.

The place of the proceedings was a festival on the island of Texel.
The Sarasani beatclub was a notorious venue where a lot of dutch and foreign bands came to play from 1966-1976.
For the festival at the back of the original building (old farmhouse/shed) there was a big tent and an outdoor stage where all the bands played.

Not a very good recording, but here it is. It's nice to take notice of.
The sound wasn't that great, vocals a little distant now and then, and a noisy crowd
