Notes:
My first time seeing Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Evening. The main draw for
me was the full performance of the 1975 classic, "Physical Graffiti". When I
heard they were doing that, I immediately wanted to see the show. Most of the
fans I talked to at the show have seen JBLZE many, many times over the years,
so I was the odd one out. The good news? Next year (or the year after), I can
see them perform a greatest hits set and it will be all new to me! Being
honest, I do hope they continue the album tributes as those are always more
fun hearing the deep cuts live. Especially since LZ is no longer around to do
them. It was an honor to finally see Jason Bonham live and his band was
excellent, to boot! "Mr. Jimmy" (Jimmy Sakurai) stole the show, which was to
be expected, so I made sure to get my ticket on his side of the stage for a
close view - wow! Recording wise, I thought this turned out pretty good. I
had fairly respectful neighbors (for once!) and had the right stack 6 rows
directly in front of me. My only complaint was the audience stayed seated
throughout the entire show until the final 3 songs. So, it was a little
uncomfortable wedged in the way we were for nearly 2 hours, but it is what it
is - I still very much enjoyed it. Jason Bonham did tell a few great stories
in between songs, but I decided to not track those separately.
Jason Bonham : Drums
James Dylan : Singing, Acoustic Guitar
Jimmy Sakurai : Lead Guitar
Dorian Heartsong : Bass, Mandolin
Alex Howland : Keyboards, Guitar
