Comments:

Very nice audience recording from The Jayhawks' appearance in Madison a few weeks ago. Sound is very good, with a crystal-clear capture of Mark and Gary's vocal interplay and very little audience interference. This show features a much better setlist (IMO), better performance, and significantly longer (by 15 minutes) setlist than their show the following night in Chicago. Go figure.

As with most dates on this tour, the set is heavy on material from "Mockingbird Time" but is a nice mix of their 1990s material with their current output. There are two songs from Mark's "Creekdippers" project that I personally could live without, but overall this is a very enjoyable show. The show closes with a cover ("I Don't Want") that I'm not familiar with - hopefully someone can chime in on the comments with whoever originally recorded this song.

Nice inclusion of "No Place" (Mystery Demos song, I think) and "Ain't No End" (from Blue Earth, by the taper's request!) that mixes up the setlist a little. The majority of this tour isn't circulating (yet), but I have to think this is one of the better dates of the tour.

Many thanks to samntuck for sharing this with me, and by extension, to the extended Jayhawks fan base. Sorry that it took me a couple of weeks to get this torrent up. Additional comments from the taper:

"Special thanks go out to P.D. Larson ( The Jayhawks archivist) for giving me permission to record this show. A very special thanks to Gary Louris & Karen Grotberg for putting me on their guest list and also for playing my request during their encore (Ain't No End). Another thank you goes out to Big Steve that manges the Barrymore Theater."

Mp3 samples are included in the comments.
