notes: ok, so a couple days before the Jayhawks show at the 930 Club, around 11:30pm,
I got a text from a friend asking me if I was going to the Jayhawks show on
thursday.... I replied that I was and that it was on Friday.... No, he says, they're
playing an unadvertised show at the O Street Mansion on thursday.... found the mansion's
website, and sure enough, there it was so I grabbed a ticket... good thing, too, because
by the next afternoon, tix were all gone... so, the show itself was interesting.... the
mansion is this big old DC rowhouse with all kinds of secret passages and hidden
rooms and is also a boutique hotel... the show was held in a small parlor type room with a
bunch of chairs set up in front and on the side... the performance was acoustic, the
sound system was just a couple of small amps and small studio monitors on the wall,
and not everyone playing was amplified.... consequently, the show wasn't too loud,
requiring a bit of volume boosting in post... and you'll also hear some woman ask
me rather loudly if she can sit in the seat my friend temporarily vacated to get a
drink.....

as always:
do not sell
do trade freely
