CONTRAST CLAUSE:
Another version of this show exists with a different lineage and length (1:27:19). It sounds like an audience recording as opposed to this soundboard. It has a brighter sound than this one. Quick checks on "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" and "Pud Wud" confirm this to be the same show, but I think different sections of the show were taped. Also, the order of songs seems different. I haven't listened to that entire recording yet, but I think that I prefer it over this torrent.

I rate the sound quality as B+. It is clear but not very dynamic, and there is some occasional distortion on the bass.

This show was originally posted as "1988-04-02 NYC (The Ritz)." DIME user phideaux3 recently posted the 1988-02-04 NYC show and wrote this in its notes on 2023-02-05:

"If you have a recording labeled �1988-04-02 The Ritz, New York City� or something close, it�s neither The Ritz nor April 2nd, 1988. Someone reading this is thinking �I could have told you that.�

"The guy that recorded this, Shawn, posted in a Holdsworth group that he was looking for someone to digitize it. After his tape arrived I realized I have a soundboard labeled �1988-04-02 The Ritz, New York City USA�. I thought perhaps the day/month was reversed, �cause it�s hard to believe the tour would be back at the same venue two months later. I did a quick overlay of a track and these aren�t the same show. Googled around and discovered that the soundboard is actually the next night, 1988 02 05 The Chance, Poughkeepsie, NY. There are several audio clips from that show out on youtube with the wrong info."

Eeklair and goody helped with the song titles back in 2007.
