Jeff Beck Group (with Jan Hammer) - June 13, 1976 (AUD - "2nd Gen, fixed SBE's" - 76 Minutes Long) Golden Hall Community Concourse, San Diego, California, U.S.A.

Contrast Clause: Previously an offer of a recording of this show was offered by whotrader (THX!!!) at: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=442360
That recording comes from an unknown generational tape, where this offer comes from a known "2nd Gen" tape. Both of these recordings are from the Same Source (Same Taper, & Same Taping Equipment).

I originally pulled out my recording of this show, which is the same source as the two mentioned in the Contrast Clause, but was incomplete.
While researching I found still active on the tracker is whotrader's nice version. Conversation within that offer comment on the previously offered version by "glasnostrd19" (THX!!!), but no mention of the SBE's (Sector Boundary Errors), which I have corrected here.
Therefore this version being offered here is the SBE fixed version from "glasnostrd19" original offer. If you haven't listened to that previous download, then you haven't heard the errors yet, or maybe you check/correct those errors before burning.

REPOST from 2008 (not a RESEED), as this has another DAE (Digital Audio Extraction) in it.
Thanks to "glasnostrd19" who originally offered this, of "stratcat58" 2nd gen recording. These are not those original files, but if anyone has those & wants to offer them, then I'll pull this offer.
I do not know if this version has been reoffered since the original 2008 offer that I downloaded, but I haven't seen it.
I'm always looking for uncirculated, alternate versions, upgrades, etc., of anything Jeff.
If you have any of those & can not share, please get them to someone who can do so - THX!!!
Length: 12 tracks = 75:21 minutes
Artwork, & Samples: none.
Enjoy!!!

comments:
a fairly clean but not very high fidelity recording of the Beck/Hammer 76 tour.
the presence (taping location) is pretty good but the mikes probably came out of a
box of Cheerios. I don't know what some poor folks have to use to record a show,
but I have some experience with this situation. I don't know if this is a full show
but based on setlist I think it is. It is not nearly as bad as my recent New Orleans
posting of 2001 show and this seems to be the full set including a couple before Beck
joins in. the source of this recording (stratcat58) says there are no released tracks
in this show and I believe that to be correct also. It's a decent recording for the
vantage point, you can hear all the instruments but you know in a second it's not a
"hi-fi" aud. based on the quality of some stuff I see up that gets swallowed up, I
think this will be of good enough quality for a reasonably large chunk of Beck nation.
I wouldn't call it a "high intensity" show either, but it's a good one anyway and
just about average length for the full set of this tour (some places got as much as
110 min. for the JHG and JBJH to follow, but most got about 70-85 or so). this is another
glasnostrd19/beckoholic cooperative production. thanks to stratcat58 for sharing some of
his Beckollections with us. One thing lacking in this set that I'm glad not to hear is
Hammer's egotismo. That comes through in some of these shows more than I'd like but here
it's a good balance of good playing by the band, and not a trying to show who's better
kind of inspiration. It's Jeff Beck live in Southern California, a different feel than in
say Chicago or Detroit, but there's no mistaking that it's the Jeff Beck/Jan Hammer group.
I must agree, this was a tour worthy of a live album. So here's an unofficial live album
to compliment the official one which is a good live disc. I can't put this in the
"west coast" category (apparently that's for artists FROM the West Coast, not concerts from
others there) but this is West Coast Jeff Beck category, and there is a difference which
I will be able to share with you, also in another show from this tour to come soon. This
is the earlier of the 2 so it will me my Saturday up for this week.
Do not sell this recording.
Trade freely and losslessly.
I don't feel any remastering is needed for this,
but if someone wants to try it and can get an
improved result that's fine.
(particularly if they know how to use EQ well without adding noise)
