"I Love the Upsidedown Headstock"

I don't often get the urge to title a recording, but this comment made by the guy sitting next to me during the opening notes of You Know You Know gave me the impetus to keep his memory alive.

The "VIP" option for this show allowed ticket holders access to a "soundcheck party". This was actually a short show comprised primarily of tunes not incuded in the tour's standard setlist, which closely follows the track list for Jeff Beck's upcoming album.

As we were being ushered into the theater, we could hear the last few notes of People Get Ready. We were barely seated when the band launched into Foxy Lady. It kept betting better and better. The set was outrageously good.

Jeff was at ease and talked a bit to the crowd, something he rarely does

Once this set was over, we left the theater and came back later for the full show. Since my seats were different for the two sets, the sound is different. The fulll show sounds better, but you can judge for yourself from the samples.
