This was sent to me as Flac's, but I converted back to Wave for inspection. I made sure the volume was balanced and I titled the tracks.
During track 9, there was a dropout and the music was really quiet. I decided to boost that weakened area, from: 5:22 to 5:45.
It sounds like an olternate source was patched in during that spot, but I can't be certain. You can hear a major quality change at 5:45.
This has never been on TTD and not currently on dime.
On the bill for this festival were: Santana, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Jefferson Airplane and CSNY, with The Rolling Stones.
The Grateful Dead were also scheduled to perform following CSNY, but declined to play shortly before their scheduled appearance due to the increasing violence at the venue.
Security was provided by the Hells Angels, who assaulted lead singer Marty Balin on stage.
During Somebody to Love, Marty Balin was attacked by members of the Hell's Angels and again at the end of Volunteers.
The event headlined by The Rolling Stones is best known for considerable violence, including the stabbing death of Meredith Hunter and three accidental deaths.
Two deaths caused by a hit-and-run car accident, and one by LSD-induced drowning in an irrigation canal.
Numerous fans were injured, numerous cars were stolen and then abandoned and there was extensive property damage.
Just a mere 4 months after Woodstaock, this was a tragic ending to the generation of Peace and Love.
According to Grace Slick, "The vibes were bad. Something was very peculiar, not particularly bad, just real peculiar.
It was that kind of hazy, abrasive and unsure day. I had expected the loving vibes of Woodstock but that wasn't coming at me. This was a whole different thing."
The first and last songs are missing from this recording. It's also believed that "The Other Side of This Life" was pieced in from the film "Gimme Shelter".
That song was interupted due to crowd violence and you can hear the band members asking the crowd to calm down and stop fighting.
Check samples for quality.
