I haven't seen this posted on TTD or dime. Is this rare? With JS opening for the Grateful Dead, I'd have to imagine that this has been in trading circles before.
This was The Cambodian Refugee Benefit Concert at the Oakland Auditorium. Joan Baez, The Beach Boys, Jefferson Starship, The Grateful Dead +special guests Carlos Santana and John Cippolina. This was the show where Santana joined Craig Chacquico for a dueling guitar jam on Somebody to Love; Kantner was fired up, clearly reclaiming his role as captain of the band during those Freedom at Point Zero touring days.
Recording Notes:
The j-card states that this was recorded from KMEL radio, but there are no station ID's and many of the songs have tape pauses between songs. This tape is a total of 69 min, I've seen previous cd's listed as 76 minutes (with the same set list), so I don't know what is different about this copy, other than the obvious tape edits.
After the tape flip, it had a few minutes repeated. I removed the repeated section and seamlessly pieced it back together.
oh yeah, Carlos joins in too, Thanks to BR for the tape.
