The John Langdon Series

A variety of uncirculated analog and digital masters,

spanning three decades...

John Langdon has been taping shows for more than twenty years, a great many of them documenting the music scene in Albuquerque in the 80s and 90s. Most of his shows are on tape cassettes, but a great many of them are on seven or ten inch reels. Over the course of time they will begin to see the light of day and be shared with music lovers everywhere. Additionally, he has further documented many of these shows with photographic images, which will be the basis for the artwork created for these shows. Thanks to John for his generosity in sharing what he's collected.

Tingley Coliseum was built for rodeos in the 1950s and was never intended for sonically pristine audio performances, let alone fantastic recordings. The seating areas ran down the long sides, but there wasn't any seating at either end because that space was reserved for cowboys and livestock. Additionally, the floors were concrete but the real problem was that the upper portion of the building is wood. When the volume went up, the building resonated, muddying up the sound and turningthe building itself into a kind of speaker... Please listen to the samples before you download so you won't be disappointed by any defecits in the audio quality.
