JETHRO TULL
September 28, 1973
Boston Garden
Boston, MA, USA

This was a request. Here you go.

Not one of the better sounding Passion Plays but, hey...
(I did remove some hiss and it sounds LOTS better now -
that was the only thing I did to the tape)
If you've got a bunch of Passion Play shows you may want to think twice before you use up your ratio on this one. Of course if you were at the Garden that night in '73, well, you gotta get this.

THE RECORDING

This recording has some issues.
Almost every time a song ends the applause is cut out.
So, most of Ian's pithy between song patter is absent.
Some bits of songs are missing (Forest Dance Pt. 2, Locomotive Breath, and some others)
The crowd noise is quite prominent with a number of yells and screams.
Of course that makes it like you're really there, in a basketball arena choking (or inhaling deeply) amidst a cloud of smoke.

Yet...
There is some pretty cool stuff happening here.
The organ interlude that segues into My God and then back into Passion Play is interesting.
The wacko psychedlic-y jam (you won't believe that it is Jethro Tull you're listening to) that then leads into the "Quote" from Brick and some defecating on a dandelion, well, that's just plain nuts, and something Tull needs to do more of now. It might put a little spark back into their (I think) rather dull performances these last several years. Oops, I digress. Sorry. Now back to 1973.
