notes:
Ian gets pissed after some firecrackers went off during his flute solo (track 5).
One of the better sounding recordings from the 1976 tour, and one of the longer
performances from a tour that often found Tull playing with one or two other bands,
and not necessarily as the headliner. Apparently only a few moments of that flute
solo are missing here. There's a fair amount of crowd rowdiness here and there,
but most of the time, like most Tull audiences, they're more interested in hearing
the music than screaming over it. It is a nice performance, no taxi grab this time
(they don't play it alot), but a pretty good version of "crazed institution" and the
title track from this album. Several of the mid 1970's Tull shows had "aqualung" as
the last song before the 1st encore. Not sure if that was the case here,
(sometimes they go right into the guitar solo after that), as the next track cuts in
slightly. (Martin's guitar solo leading into wind up). Only a few seconds were missing there.
I didn't notice any obvious audio problems for a 41 year old analog tape recording,
this one has held up well and may well be new to digital circulation,
at least from the original analog master tapes. glasnostrd19 for JEMS
