JETHRO TULL
November 20, 1995
Akron, OH
E.J. Thomas Hall
According to the Dime bot, this has never been on DIME.
The setlist IS at the MOI, so it has circulated.
In my humble and very biased opinion this was the last GREAT Tull tour.
They had a fantastic new album (Roots to Branches) that really sounded like the whole band was involved in it's creation, and not just Ian and hired guns.
I think the strength of the new material really got the band fired up.
They didn't play Thick as a Brick (except the tease reprise), and I didn't even miss it.
Wow, that says a lot about how good (I think) the new material, and the setlist were.
They didn't play Bouree either, which made room for other choices.
See Ian, you don't have to play ALL the old standards ALL the time.
I guess if there's not a bunch of new songs/album to play/promote he feels he's gotta play the hits.
That just makes them a nostalgia band,
which in the fall of 1995 they were not.
Enjoy.
Cheers,
Lake Ogleton
