I'd heard about Jill Sobule for years and yet never seen her, and here she showed up playing in a tent on a brutally hot day at an outdoor music festival in Westchester County, and she was brilliant and funny and made me look forward to seeing her again. Not even a year later, and she's gone. RIP, Jill, the world will miss you.
