Show 4 of London 2019.

After the successful efforts for the first 2 shows there was little stress involved in
getting gear inside and recording the show. We followed the same routine that worked,
got in early and went to the "taper bar" as we called it where we all meet up. As before
about 15 minutes prior to the Jimmy Vaughan set we got to our seats. For day 3 we were
a little further back but stll in the prime spot. Jimmy Vaughan came onstage with his band.
Another enjoyable set. The sound was really good as expected. The setlist seemed to vary a
little bit but was similar to the first 2 nights. At the break I was able to see some
friends and use the facilities which was fast and easy compared to many venues. Before
I knew it the lights came down and Eric came on stage with the band. The set started with
the best version of Motherless Children on the run followed by a sold run through of Pretending,
Ket To The Highway and Hoochie Coochie man. The version of I Shot the Sheriff was exceptional
to end the opening electric portion of the set. The sound was great and the band was performing
well. The acoustic set brought a return of Change The World and the continued ommission of
Layla which was not disappointing. The return to electric started with an amazing version of
Tearing Us Apart. I really enjoyed this one. Holy Mother, Crossoads and Queen of Spades were
all played well and everyone knew what was next. People rushed the stage (Its a Royal Albert
Hall thing) as Clapton started the first notes of Layla. Another great version and was so happy.
Been waiting decades to see it performed electric and got it 3 times. The only question was what
would it be. Before the show TallTaper said a double encore and we said it wasn't happening.
We saw them put out Jimmy Vaughan's amp so we figured on Before You Acuse Me but we were
surprised with Purple Rain again. That was figured as a one and done so it was really nice. A
better performance than night one then right into Before You Accuse Me with Jimmy Vaughan. As
we walked out and down the hill to our favorite show pub Hoop and Toy we felt lucky to be at
this run. If/when Clapton plays again, count me in. After drinks, a walk back to our flat it
was 2 1/2 hours of sleep than on to airport. Shows tracked during flight and here they are.
