Huge thanks as usual to BigDee for mastering

Jimmy described this as the noisiest of his UK gigs so far (in a good way) comparing it to The Continental Club, Texas. Unusually for UK crowds John Inmon and Radoslav got applauses mid songs after great solos* (?) . The performance was very good and John Inmon was on fire. Situated to right of stage, front row, directly in front of Jimmy. Speaker set up is a little odd at the Maze. The Left stacks are on stage and right stack are somewhere towards the middle of the room so generally behind you and to the side if you are close to stage. Probably better for binaurals rather than cards. A low ceilinged room. Sounded quite good if a little muffled at times. Jimmy's spoken intros are relatively quiet so I boosted them a little realtive to the rest of the recording. The opening conversation is with Margaret who was sitting next to me and has known the band for years and years. one of the same Margarets that are usually mentioned at Sam Baker UK gigs.
Jimmy had played Leeds the night before and both Margarets had attended that one. I had to miss it as I was already booked for a Mary Gauthier show. Tough choice but Mary was only doing the 1 gig within about 200 miles of me.
Good demonstration at the start of how Americans have difficulty with some UK city/Town names with Jimmy attempting to pronounce Nottingham.
* Note to any American Artists: It is not that UK crowds don't appreciate or respect great solo playing rather we prefer to wait until the end of the song to clap rather than miss any of the tune or song.....at least that is what I prefer to do.

This one is for Sylvia for making me aware of just what a star Jimmy LaFave is
