comments:
this was the first live Jo Jo Gunne recording I ever heard,
and for a long time the only one I'd heard.
this music has a feel of Steve Miller Band from around this era,
(especially track 6) blues-rocky style. this recording is decent
for the era, but a bit boomy due to the size of venue and not real
close up recording, performance sounds quite good. I believe this
is their 1st tour, and featuring music of their 1st studio album
"Jo Jo Gunne".
I only know a few of those songs, and one of my favorites isn't
in here (broken down man) which seems a bit surprising since this
seems to be a full show and that was one of their biggest hits,
from that fine debut album. another favorite from that one (take me
down easy) sounds very different here than the original version
(bluesier). Jo Jo was likely opening for someone else here, maybe
two or three others (the Winterland shows were like that most of
this time period, much like the nearby Fillmore Aud.)
Do not sell this recording.

Get your Gunne.
