This was quite interesting and enjoyable to listen to. but was a MAJOR project.
After doing some research on this recording, I see there is an A&M Records SP-8414 Promotional LP - Live at the Bijou Cafe. (41:39)
The fidelity on this cassette isn't quite as clear as the promo LP, but the cassette contains 3 extra non-promo LP tracks, indicated by a (*).
The tape transfer actually gave me a lot of trouble. The tape was wound too tightly and during the first 20 minutes of play back the tape would stop spinning and then lurch forward, creating dozens of sound dropouts.
I even took the cassette apart to see if something was making the tape not spin properly, but I couldn't see anything wrong with it.
I spun and repacked the tape, trying to even the tension on the tape. I had to transfer Side A four times before I finally got a good transfer.
Luckily, I did find some tracks from that promo lp, so I was able to do a proper pitch correction on this old tape.
I think it sounds good and easily enjoyable now.
