A loud and raunchy Joan Osborne this evening, more blues than rhythm, the taper must have been right up front, because there's not a lot of crowd once the band gets going. The taper paused the recording occasionally, leaving a small 'pop' (now removed) and sometimes losing the first notes of a song. No encore appears on the tape and there's no indication one way or the other if she played one.

The Continental Divide at 3rd Avenue and St. Marks in the East Village opened in 1991 hosting hosted bands like Iggy Pop, The Ramones, Blues Traveler, the Spin Doctors and Joan Osborne. In 2006 it transitioned into a dive bar best known for its drink special (5 shots for $10, later $12) and controversy over its dress code. It closed in late 2018.

Enjoy!
