This was the last night and return home for Joe Ely from his solo tour. Jeff Plankenhorn did a tremendous job backing up Joe on slide guitar, guitar, mandolin and vocals. Joe seemed to have many family and friends in attendance and the Cactus Cafe is a legendary small room with excellent acoustics. Joe has played there many times and seemed to feel right at home on the same stage that used to host Townes van Zandt and less than two weeks before Butch Hancock. Joe Pug and Greg Tuohey, who opened for Joe on the tour, joined for the last couple of songs. This is a warm show and an excellent capture of a memorable evening.
